Members who enjoy racing will have the skills and technical ability to continue on a competitive swimming pathway following the completion of Stroke Tech. EVO's competitive pathway offers support for swimmers to take the step up from local to regional, and national-level competitions.
Members of our competitive squads are expected to make swimming a priority sport.
Regional Squad
Regional Squad members continue detailed technique development while increasing their aerobic and anaerobic fitness through an increase in training volume at graduated intensities. The Regional Squad training programme facilitates conditioning to support their target competitions - Swimming BOP Junior Clash, Zespri AIMS Games, Aquaknights Junior Festival, and New Zealand Secondary School Swimming Championships.
Regional Squad members can attend up to five sessions a week
Regional Squad training gear - kickboard, fins, pull buoy, hand paddles, and drink bottle
National Squad
Evolution Aquatic's National Squad is for members aiming to maximise their long-term potential in competitive swimming. National Squad members swim at a Div II, national age group level or higher. Their programme creates opportunities to attain targeted results at the Div II Swimming Competition, New Zealand National Age Groups, Secondary Schools, Short Course Swimming Championships, and beyond.
National Squad members are encouraged to discuss their goals and training schedule with the EVO coaching team to form an individualised training plan
